BAROQUE GUITARS

We have helped resell a number of early music instruments for players.

From that we realised that many Classical guitarists have a passion for the early music repertoire and asked us to look into finding quality Baroque guitars and Lutes. After a lot of research, we are landing our first carefully curated selection.

Baroque guitars feature five courses of strings, tuned as a modern classical guitar except without the low E bass string. As with renaissance lutes, usually the highest string as the playing string (Chanterelle) is often left single, thus giving a total of 9 strings, even though makers generally supply them with a double high e course.

Specifications include:

  • Solid spruce top

  • Deep set decorative rose

  • Ebony fingerboards

  • 660mm scale length

  • 44mm Nut width

  • Back and sides: There is a choice of variegated Rosewood and Walnut, or all rosewood.

NOTE: OUR PHOTOS SHOW THE MODEL WITH VARIEGATED ROSEWOOD/WALNUT BACK AND SIDES

$1,700 – $1,900 range
